When I start uni in September, I will be old enough to be the mother of most of the students. Worse, I'll still be one of the youngest studying for ministry. What does that say about the Kirk (or me, for that matter?)!
You'll find that the NC student community probably has a greater percentage of 'mature' students than many faculties. That said, religious studies still attracts a lot of school leavers. As for what it says about the Kirk... it shows that they value life experience and encourage those who are called to train regardless of age. Plus, you'll find ministry students cover a pretty broad age range - many even younger than yourself!
